How to add a parked/mirror domain to a control panel?

Domain pointer / parked domain / mirror domain / alias allows you to forward other domains that you own to your main website. Make sure to change the records of these domains to the same name servers as your main website (this is done through the domain registrar).

DirectAdmin

  1. Go to your client area to the “Services – My services” section and click the “Login to Direct Admin” button;
  2. The Direct Admin panel will be opened. Go to the “Account Manager” section and click the “Domain Pointers” button;
  3. Choose a domain you want to add a parked domain for in the top menu bar;
  4. To add a parked domain, click the “Create Domain Pointer” button;
  5.  A new window where you can specify the following information will be opened:
    • Source Domain – a parked domain that will forward your site visitors to your main website;
    • Target Domain – your main website;
    • Create as an Alias – hit this checkbox if you want your visitors to see your main website’s links instead of a park domain’s links in their browser’s address bar;
  6. After all the information is specified, click the “Create” button. Done.

If you want to delete a parked domain, hit the checkbox near the needed domain and click the “Delete” button.

cPanel

  1. Go to your client area to the “Services – My services” section and click the “Login to cPanel”;
  2. The cPanel will be opened. Go to the “Domains” section and click the “Aliases” button;
  3. Enter the domain you want to add as an alias;
  4. Click the “Add Domain” button;
  5. If you need to delete an alias, just click on the “Remove” button opposite the required alias.

The root directory of the alias will be “/public_html”. You can add aliases to cPanel only for the main domain of the service.

ISPmanager

  1. Go to your client area to the “Services – My services” section and click the “Login to ISPmanager“ button;
  2. You can add an alias by going to the section “WWW – WWW-domains”;
  3. Double click on the domain for which you want to create an alias;
  4. In the window that opens, find the “Aliases” field, expand it and enter the name of your parked domain and click the button “Ok”.

In the ISPManager control panel, you can add parked domains for any domain assigned to the service.

Plesk

  1. Go to your client area to the “Services – My services” section and click the “Login to PleskExtended”;
  2. The Plesk panel will be opened. Go to the “Websites & Domains” section and click the button ”Add Domain Alias”;
  3. Enter the name of the parked domain and the domain for which you want to add an alias from the list below and click the button “OK”. Done.
